What Is the Crown Town Challenge?

The Crown Town Challenge is a high-energy, half-day event bringing together representatives from companies across the Charlotte region for a morning of giving back and have a blast doing it.

Companies send their teams to assemble hands-on STEAMKits that go directly to local students, then have the opportunity to face off in a fast-paced LEGO robotics competition inspired by the Queen City itself. It’s part community impact, part team building, and 100% Charlotte.

How It Works

STEP 1

Register your team. A company contact registers and adds participant names. Choose the team size that fits your group.

STEP 2

Show up ready. Just bring your team and your competitive spirit.

STEP 3

Build, compete, celebrate. Teams assemble STEAMKits for local students, then compete in our Charlotte-themed LEGO robotics challenge. The morning wraps with an awards ceremony to crown the champions.

Crown Town Challenge 2025

In our inaugural year, nearly 150 participants from 13 Charlotte-area companies came together to build 1,000 STEAMKits, all delivered to local students through our partners at Classroom Central. Teams competed in our first-ever LEGO robotics challenge, with Team Honeywell taking home first place and Team SCOR finishing second. It was one for the books and 2026 is going to be bigger.
